会社概要
88 years of history
Since our founding in 1933, our motto at Kawashima Joinery has been to strive for continual improvement and never be complacent in our own skills./p>
With meticulous precision we shave, cut, saw, bend, and finally assemble, putting heartfelt care into our work and imbuing our designs with wishes for deep connections with others.
As artisans, we are working on traditional wooden fittings by taking on the challenge of combining Toyama's skill, which is alive with an excellent manufacturing industry, and our own advanced handmade wooden joinery techniques.
Creating complete designs using kumiko requires mastery of a wide range of joinery and fitting techniques. At Kawashima Tategu, we employ a vast array of traditional joinery techniques and have a number of artisans with different specializations, enabling us to create shoji, ranma, contemporary doors, windows, skylights, furniture—and more. This gives us great flexibility in responding to our customer's needs and creating original kumiko work.
One of our deep motivations at Kawashima Tategu is to create beautiful and original fittings through the preservation of ancient techniques and innovative new artistry.
The geometric designs of kumiko craft, which have been passed down since the Asuka Period, contain wishes and prayers for protection, health, and prosperity. Kawashima Tategu, preserving these ancient motifs, put our soul into creating beautiful kumiko designs which convey auspicious prayers.
